Courtney Buses to withdraw loss making bus services in RBWM
Services 8 and 16/16A operated by Courtney Buses will be withdrawn after Saturday 29th April 2017. We regret that we have had to make this decision following continued and increasing losses on the two routes that have made ongoing operation impossible.

Patronage on Service 8 has fallen by 20% over the past two years. Almost three-quarters of passengers are concessionary pass holders who are entitled to free travel on the basis that bus operators are reimbursed by the Council. Over the same period, the amount we received per concession trip was reduced by 10%. The Windsor to Maidenhead corridor was subsidised by RBWM Council until June 2016, but since that subsidy ended this route also has made significant losses. RBWM Council has been making a small contribution towards Service 8, but we informed them in November last year that a continuing decline in passenger numbers and concessionary revenue has made these routes unsustainable.

Last week, in an effort to give time for discussions, we made an offer to RBWM to continue the services in a revised form until the end of this year, which would have maintained an hourly service to Boulters Lock and kept a largely unchanged service 16/16A between Maidenhead and Windsor, including the Newlands School journeys, for a continuation of the current level of funding to service 8, but this offer was rejected. Increased congestion on roads (there is not a single bus priority measure in the Borough) and a £9.4m investment from the Council in the next financial year alone to expand the Broadway car parking facility does give us confidence that in the future buses will become any more attractive. This is despite Government targets to reduce pollution levels and promote sustainable transport methods.

We recognise that our decision will impact on a large number of our current customers, and we are very disappointed to reach this point but we cannot run loss making services indefinitely. We hope that we have been able to give people sufficient notice to make alternative arrangements.
Service 7 to Woodlands Park will continue to operate but to a new timetable, along with a revised form of Service 5 (renumbered Service 9 and diverted to serve Halifax Road, Headington Road/Farm Road and Belmont Road) again with a new timetable. The rural services (4, 4A, 238 and 239) are operated under contract to RBWM and will continue to operate with some minor timetable changes.
Due to rising costs, we have found it necessary to increase the price of some fares on our Bracknell services from Sunday 26th February 2017. New prices are shown below:

The South Bracknell Weekly promo special offer ticket will continue to be great value at £12 for adults and £7.80 for children, but will only be valid on service 194 as far as Ringmead , not TRL.

Most longer distance single and return fares on services 53, 162, 192 and 194 will also increase by 10p or 20p.

The above fares have not been revised since at least June 2015. Our Network ticket prices will not be changing.

Wednesday 23rd November 2016. Attending this years event was Bill Courtney-Smith, 
our Managing Director, along with Dawn Webber (Office Manager) and Malcolm Venn (Engineering Manager). We would like to say a HUGE thank you not only to our wonderful

Please be advised that our offices close at 5:30pm Monday to Friday and do not open at the weekend. If you have a lost property enquiry/collection please can you call to arrange a time for collection (if we have the item) and arrive during office hours. Our depot is extremely busy after 5:30pm with buses returning so we advise customers not to visit after this time.

Smartcards also need to be arranged through the online shop or over the phone and during office hours.
