How we are helping during COVID-19
Because of the Covid-19 situation, buses are running with limited capacity due to social distancing requirements.
But, where a bus is being used for a specific school, the rules about social distancing are relaxed to allow more students to travel together in their “school bubble”.
Face coverings will need to be worn on all our services and fares will remain the same as they were in March. We would encourage pre-paid tickets on our Thames Valley Buses app or by smartcard. If you have to pay on the bus, please use contactless payment where possible. IF YOU PAY WITH CASH, NO CHANGE WILL BE GIVEN – WE ARE CURRENTLY OPERATING EXACT FARE ONLY.
In order to accommodate the expected numbers of students needing to travel to/from school from September, we are making some changes to our services across our network.
Some of our routes will have additional journeys intended for students only. Because we only have a limited number of extra vehicles, some of our routes will have journeys which are wholly or partly intended for specific school students only.
The following changes will apply on Schooldays only:
Bracknell – Route 194
There will be two additional journeys on this route in each direction.
- An additional journey numbered 194S will leave Bracknell at 0740 for Sandhurst School (returning from Sandhurst at 1515)
- An additional journey numbered 194E will leave Bracknell at 0755 for Edgbarrow School (returning from Edgbarrow at 1530)
We would ask that students of these schools from the Bracknell direction do not attempt to use the normal 194 services, as these buses will be smaller than normal with limited capacity for social distancing. Please help us to keep these journeys available for non-school passengers.
